About This Project
As we conclude our yearlong 50th anniversary celebration, we're giving back to our communities with round two of our Million Dollar Charity Challenge. Once again, Art Van Furniture Chairman and Founder Art Van Elslander is generously providing $1,000,000 in funds to 50 charities throughout the state of Michigan, with grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 that will support programs serving children and health and human services. These grants will be designed as Challenge Gifts for each organization, to help maximize fundraising efforts.
Entry Process
To be eligible for this grant, your organization must meet the following requirements:
- Be recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not a private foundation.
- Have a current financial audit conducted by an independent certified public accountant.
- In policy and practice do not discriminate based on age, race, color, sex, religion, disability, national origin, height, weight or marital status.
Exclusions
Organizations not eligible for this particular grant include: individuals (including sponsorships), private foundations or endowment funds, religious organizations, political activities, parties or candidates, veteran organizations, fraternal or labor organizations, courtesy advertising program books and yearbooks, entertainment events, scholarships or conferences, sporting events or teams, schools and travel or tours.
Application Process Deadline: Grant applications are due by midnight, Monday August 2, 2010, and grant recipients will be notified in October 2010.
